Aurélien Nicolas is one of the founding members of the art of skinlessness, also known as TAOS, a band formed in Paris during the winter of 1999 with Scott Batty.

Within the art of skinlessness, he was the main musician of the group, playing piano and guitar and shaping much of the harmonic, melodic and instrumental substance of the band.

His work inside TAOS moved between raw song structures, theatrical tension, unstable cabaret, experimental music and sound construction, helping to give the band its fragile, abrasive and strangely lyrical identity.

After the last period of activity of the art of skinlessness, he withdrew from the musical scene in 2010, choosing instead to continue music and sonic experiments outside the stage, under different identities and through more private or internet-based forms of circulation.
